Health Office

Welcome to the school nurse information site.  Here at Parker School I not only attend to the sick or injured children but also conduct yearly health screenings that include vision, hearing, height, weight, and blood pressure.  If there are any problems with these screenings a referral form will be sent home to encourage you to visit your own pediatrician.  I also teach health classes to kindergarten-3rd grade students.

Our goal at Parker School is to promote, maintain, and educate healthy students and their families.

What is School Nursing? School Nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success and life-long achievement of students. To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual or potential health problems; provide case management services and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self- management, self- advocacy and learning. School nurses also provide information about treatment resources to families and health and growth and development to the educational team. The school nurse also continually gathers and analyzes data to look for trends in an effort to improve health care for students and staff.  School nurses are advocates for wellness activities as well as identifying student health needs and works with parents and school staff to prevent health problems from impacting school performance.

If your child requires any medication or has a medical condition such as asthma or any type of allergy please share that with me.

"Students must be healthy to be educated and educated to be healthy."

NOTICE When a child is sick, upon returning to school , a Doctor’s note should be specific as to the reason for illness.
